영국에서는 5명 중 1명이 치명적인 질병에 대한 보호 없이 초등학교에 입학하는 상황에 대응하기 위해 가정 방문 백신 접종 시범 프로그램이 시작된다.
세계보건기구(WHO)는 집단 면역을 달성하기 위해 최소 95%의 아동이 각 질병에 대한 백신을 접종받아야 한다고 권장하고 있다.
2024-25년에는 영국의 주요 아동 백신 중 어느 것도 이 목표를 달성하지 못했으며, 지역별 접종률 차이가 컸다.
